How does onboarding to SBCaaS work?

Onboarding starts with a voice discovery workshop covering your platforms, SIP carriers, numbering and security requirements. HookZ then produces a target design, builds the cloud SBC tenancy or ships the on-premises appliance, completes interoperability testing with your UC, Teams or contact centre platform, and runs a controlled cutover with rollback in place.

What are typical deployment timelines?

Cloud SBCaaS deployments are typically live within 2 to 4 weeks, including Microsoft Teams Direct Routing and carrier interconnect testing. On-premises SBCaaS timelines depend on hardware logistics and import clearance for the target country, and are usually 4 to 8 weeks from order confirmation.

Which deployment options are available?

Accepted Answer

You can choose Cloud SBCaaS as a fully hosted, HookZ-operated voice edge with dedicated or shared SBC options and multi-region resilience, or On-Premises SBCaaS where a physical or virtual SBC sits in your data centre, office or edge site on a subscription basis with HookZ retaining hardware ownership and lifecycle responsibility. Hybrid designs combining both are supported.

What support levels are offered?

Business-hours and 24x7x365 support options are available, with defined response targets by severity. All tiers include software and firmware lifecycle management, security patching, OEM support management and RMA coordination. Optional Managed Operations adds centralised monitoring and management through a HookZ-hosted platform such as AudioCodes OVOC or Ribbon RAMP.

What happens if on-premises SBC hardware fails?

Eligible On-Prem SBCaaS deployments can use Shared Regional Hot Spares on a best-efforts basis, subject to compatible inventory being available, so service can be restored while the permanent replacement progresses through the purchased RMA service. Mission-critical sites can purchase a Dedicated Regional Hot Spare reserved for their deployment with a next-business-day local delivery target, subject to service location and logistics conditions.

Do we still own our carrier and numbering relationships?

Accepted Answer

Yes. SBCaaS is carrier-neutral. You can keep existing SIP trunks and number ranges, bring your own carrier, or consolidate onto HookZ VoiceEdge Global SIP later without redesigning the voice edge.
